Annual CIO Meeting at Merit’s Users Conference – May 15-16

We are holding our first annual MCCA CIO meeting at the Merit’s Users Conference on Wednesday May 15th and Thursday May 16th.  There will be two sessions on the 15th for MCCA colleges and a MCCA CIO breakfast on May 16th.    Merit has graciously offered these sessions and breakfast to our group at no additional charge and has extended non-member pricing to all MCCA’s colleges.  The conference has excellent keynote speakers, informative sessions and a cost effective venue for us to connect with one another, our K-12 partners and vendors.

Now through March 29, MCCA Colleges can register to attend the full conference for just $159 ($199 after that date). There are additional options to attend single days of the conference.

This is the fifteenth year for this conference and it has something for everyone.   One of my favorite sessions from last year was from Randy Schapel with Mott Community College on their home grown open-source SSD NAS for their Desktop VDI environment.   For a great sample of the quality of keynotes, you may be interested in viewing a session from the 2011 conference archive on social engineering, “No Tech Hacking”  http://www.merit.edu/videos/mmc/2011/no_tek_hack.wmv
